DH has BBC news 24 or whatever it's called on so guess I'll catch some of it at some point. Not seen the harlot nor Mrs Obama's outfits yet but I'm sure I'll catch them before the day is out.

Just getting my financial statements ready to go on a lovely little trip to the accountants. Poop.

Sorry to hear you're getting no pay rise this year bonzo. Think there's a lot of it about and I suspect, being the cynic, that the companies that are doing well/ok will use this as an excuse not to give any rises this year.

Meant to say JJ I've always liked the look of the Tripp Trapp but I bought a M&P high chair that was going very cheap when I bought the cot bed. Let me know how your fair with it though as I might still get one. I'm just looking for a nice lamb skin for K's pram/car seat. Seen a nice one on Amazon. Anyone else with a reccommendation?

Is your father from the north eating a feast of cow heel and tripe??? Personally I've had both foisted upon me as a child as my mother likes that kind of tripe offal...makes me wretch thinking about it. Actually I got a leedle bit confused there as I thought there was a play on words that....cow heel...then talk of simon cowell...I thought it was a pet name for him...simon cow heel Oh well....I'll shut my yap now.

Not read anything else but big YAY for Ermintrude.

My first name was my birth name (very plain and boring)

My second name was my adoptive name (horrid surname)

Then i met exh and we decided to get married. I was 20 in the May and got married in the June so we are talking young! My ex's surname is one letter different from being another phrase for a blowjob.

I decided I was not havign that name.

My mum cried, told me I was bringing shame onthe family (!!), he wasn't happy, and I had so much pressure put on (a very young ) me.

I capitulated and changed my name.

So got my third name.

When I met and married dh, he had a normal surname, I wasn't going back to my less horrid name and I changed my name for ex so I thought it would look very bad (and I would have felt bad) not to change it for dh.

so - I am now on my fourth name!!

I tell dd regularly that she has not to change her name for a man but seeign that she has a name that is one letter away from a blowjob she can't wait to be shut of it

My wedding was lovely, but I had so many rows with my mum over the way things 'should' be done rather than the way we were doing them.

BonzoDoodah · 20/01/2009 15:37

lillibet lol at the name - my friend got married and with her husband's surname and her first name she sounded like a porn star - a name that even my grandmother would have blinked at (surname a version of Dicks). Both of them changed their names - which I thought was a lovely compromise.

johnworf · 20/01/2009 15:39

hedgepig just thought of you. I was on Amazon looking for Penguin mugs (as in Penguin classics mugs) and found these Maybe your DH would like one?

jeanjeannie · 20/01/2009 15:41

jw PMSL@ Simon Cow Heel - that's priceless!

Already have a Tripp Trapp (or troll chair) and we love it - hence we've gone in for a second. Means that the LOs eat with us at the table from the word go and we've got such a small house (i mean SMALL) that they just slot in round the table out of sight.

lilibet I'm wracking my brains for another word for blowjob Four names - that's bonkers.

bonzo that's a rough deal - no pay rise It's so hard to know in this current climate of economic fear if companies are really doing well or not. Makes you realise you can take nothing at face value.

jw I gave up filing my accounts on line as the website is sh*te! Got accountant to do it and she's worth every penny. Not sure what possessed me to try and do it myself.... Someone slap me next time I suggest it!

lilibet · 20/01/2009 15:48

It's a very uncommon name, and not really a common word for blow job, but once people realise............

two words

first one something you do with cake

second male hen

take away the fourth letter

ermintrude13 · 20/01/2009 15:49

Lilibet I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight till I've worked out that name! Fellati? Fellacio? Goble? I can't think of that many other words for blowjob, I'm far too innocent

ermintrude13 · 20/01/2009 15:57

Oh, it's something -cock. Can't think of the first bit though - I bake, fill, ice and eat cake - should I be doing something else with it?!

JJ and JW I love the online self-assessment thingy. I just transfer the info from my spreadsheets onto it and it's done in a jiffy. Only the self-employed bit these days though, so maybe it gets worse if you have to fill in lots of different sections.

Tee why take a shower? Do you think that nice Mr Obama will be able to tell? . My great grandmother was invited to a neighbour's house to watch the Coronation in '53 and she put a clean pinny because she thought they could see her.

Bonzo yes, of course I am you! We're a very confused Gemini

Tee2072 · 20/01/2009 16:07

Hahaha ermintrude. I took a shower because tonight is my first antenatal class! So have to wash sometime!

I am not really sure why this class is so late. Its called 'early pregnancy class' and is one night only. It apparently will cover nutrition. Its a bit late for this, yes? Also, will have car seat expert there, which is really why we are going!

jeanjeannie · 20/01/2009 16:17

EAT...you EAT cake AND EAT ....C Have I got it right? OMG...if that's right (minus 4th letter) then I can totally see her wanting rid!!!

Are you telling me Huw Edwars CAN'T see that I'm sitting here, hair nicely brushed...starkers on the sofa with a wanton look in my eye...? Bugger - I needn't have bothered...

johnworf · 20/01/2009 16:21

OOh lilibet I love a riddle...so, as Lloyd Grossman would say, the clues are there.

Ok. I think you're called Suckcock? Or Sukcock? You're not called Lickdick are you???

tee hee...only kidding

Can you imagine: "taxi for Lickdick". Fabulous.

jeanjeannie · 20/01/2009 16:26

jw @ taxi for Lickdick..

I think it's Eatock and I claim my prize!

mrsboogie · 20/01/2009 16:26

ahem...to raise the tone a little:
don't the little Obama girls look lovely?

ermintrude13 · 20/01/2009 16:28

LOL at Lickdick . JJ your idea would be Eatock without the 4th letter, which doesn't sound too bad. Munchnob? Oooh, Swallocock? Poor Lilibet, this is an unkind game. But such good fun.

johnworf · 20/01/2009 17:40

Oh I like Munchnob. It has a certain ring to it

Didn't see the little Obama's. DH is sat glued to tv as I type. He's waiting for the first shot I'm sure....actually he's just really interested in the whole thing. Hoping the dollar might get stronger no doubt.

mrsboogie · 20/01/2009 17:46

I bet lilibet is wishing she never said owt !!

At least he made it through the ceremony ok - although the news was saying here was a security threat. Good speech.

Tee2072 · 20/01/2009 17:54

They did look lovely.

Anyone else notice that on the floor around where he was sworn in their were 'marks' for them to hit? One said Mrs Obama, one said PE Obama, one said Malina and one said Sasha! So cute!

I wish him lots of luck. He's going to need it!

jeanjeannie · 20/01/2009 18:13

I bet those girls' names become popular. My DP is called Sasha (sasa) it's all the rage in Eastern Europe, being the diminutive for Aleksandar. They did look sooo sweet though.

I liked the last guy - forget his name - the elderly civil rights campaigner. He was very cool.

hedgepig · 20/01/2009 20:54

JJ I love Sasha for a chap it is a great name. Does anyone have a spare tidying up pixie the can send around?

jeanjeannie · 20/01/2009 21:19

hedgepig I think it's a cool chaps name too. I mean - think of Sacha Distel - or maybe not!

Have my tidying pixie - I rarely use it; prefering to sit surrounded by toys, as though living in a weird, primary-coloured art installation

hedgepig · 20/01/2009 21:27

Sacha has an air of mystery about it , my DH is Norman so no mystery there.

I have blown up Ollies galt play ring thing today and it does indeed look like a work of art and it is blooming huge, I need to build an extension (but secretly want a bigger house but too many ££££££££)

johnworf · 20/01/2009 21:46

hedgepig does Ol like his galt ring? I put K in hers and she sits there like she's waiting for a bus or waiting for the film to start. I get on the floor with her and get the toys out but it like 'nah, want the chair/pram/cot...anything but this old tyre with bits hanging off it'. Perhaps she'll change her mind when she gets a bit older She likes the Galt dinosaur though.

I am the tidying pixie

Just found some bambino mio nappies with 70% off so thought..............well, you would wouldn't you?

Electrician is coming on Monday to fit the rise and fall light and I'm really excited! Yes. I really am

hedgepig · 20/01/2009 21:57

I think he is the same as K a little mystified by it, but it is a nice change for him to sit up more (I have to pad him out with a towel though). He sat in one at baby group and seemed to like it, so that is why I got him one...my 1st ever ebay purchase.

I'm sure you said you weren't going to buy any more nappies , bad JW. The light sounds fun, princess J queen of the jungle swings through the tree tops on the rise and fall light

please please please come to Cambridge and sort out my house JW. That said. I have organised for a man to come tomorrow to quote to clean the carpet and sofas (it has only taken me 4 months to make the call!!!)

hedgepig · 20/01/2009 22:06

sorry, princess K not J (I need to sleep)

johnworf · 20/01/2009 22:58

hedgepig I'd love to come and sort out your house I like organising stuff. I find it very therapeutic. I'll just grab my diary and see when I can fit you in.....[thumbs through and finds a multitude of blank pages]

Sounds like Ol and K do the same thing in 'the ring'. Maybe it will grow on them

Yeah I can do my Tarzan impersonation while I'm swinging around up by the ceiling, I can throw baked beans down to the troops below

I know, I know what I said about no more nappies but they're such a steal at that price. I could even just sell them on as Ebay will let me sell them if they're new.

JJ has got me thinking about getting one of the Tripp Trapps (Troll chairs). Now, I'm about to get rid of K's swinging crib, Dutailier chair and footstool and I can throw in the almost new M&P one on Ebay and I reckon I could cover the chair and the baby kit with the proceeds. The chair and stuff aren't going until end of next month or thereabout so it will coincide nicely with her sitting in a highchair......I'm debating Babydan do a cheaper version but it doesn't look as good to me.
