How many of you suffered from this? Last time I got it every 2 weeks from the seventh month, now I am 32 weeks in second pregnancy and have got it again! Argghh! It's literally so irritating! It's hard with a little one, thrush and I am completely exhausted all the time too! Roll on Feb!

I have got with each of my last pregnancies and am fully expecting it again sometime this time. I hated the feeling of the cream too though it did ease things. Hope it clears up for you quickly

Frizbe · 29/12/2008 20:59

yup had it once per pregnancy (twice then!) bah.

wellbalanced · 30/12/2008 10:16

I had it about wk 12 of this pregnancy so far not returned althou is plenty of time, took about a week to fully get rid.

Phoenix · 30/12/2008 10:20

How do you get rid of it in pg? Is canestan ok to use or do you use something else?

wellbalanced · 30/12/2008 10:21

Just used cream not pesserie thingy

Phoenix · 30/12/2008 10:23

Might have to get some then i think, it feels like i'm starting with it again

francesrivis · 30/12/2008 11:04

Sorry to hijack but I have this as well at 33 wks - had it last time as well. Does anyone know of any natural remedies that are safe in pg? Canestan does not seem to do much for me - I have a cream with hydrocortisone in it that's worked well before but not sure if I can use it when pg.

Phoenix · 30/12/2008 11:05

Live yogurt works apparantly but i've never tried it

angelene · 30/12/2008 11:07

GP gave me the canestan pessary when I had it at about 12 weeks, it cleared it up nicely.

wellbalanced · 30/12/2008 11:11

Not sure about natural remedies ive never tried the yogart thing!
Doc told me not to use pessary in pregnancy thou...

Phoenix · 30/12/2008 11:26

I've read that you can use the pessary but not push it in as far and not to use the applicator thing just use your finger to put it in.

12StoneNeedsToBe10 · 30/12/2008 11:28

I had it for about a week with DS - doc just advised taking warm baths and wearing loose cotton knickers. Worked for me

12StoneNeedsToBe10 · 30/12/2008 11:29

That should have said warm baths without any bubble-bath or similar. Just plain water.

Phoenix · 30/12/2008 11:30

You can eat the live yogurt or use it in your vagina btw

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 30/12/2008 11:30

I have it at the moment and it's driving me crazy! Think it's more a reaction to antibiotics I've just finsihed, though 15 weeks with pregnancy no.5, and also had throughout pregnancies with dds. I used the canestan pessaries in all of my pregnancies, GP said it was fine. Really is the icing on the cake when feeling sick and exhausted, so many sympathies!

belgo · 30/12/2008 11:36

Canestan pessary is fine during pregnancy.

Cazzywazzy · 05/01/2009 21:21

Tampon dipped in yogurt, change a couple of times (leave yog in seperate place tpo eating stuff!) mine goes in 24hrs. Brilliant, cheap & natural. Bit messy

seaside72 · 06/01/2009 09:19

A warm bath every night, no bubbles but a couple of drops of tea tree oil and lavender oil worked a treat for me. Yogurt is good for instant relief - but pretty messy!
