brettgirl2 · 28/12/2008 17:36

I know - my edd is 12th April and I am quite impressed at just 'squeezing in'.

metoo2222 · 28/12/2008 18:43

can you get it on top of the £500 maternity grant does anyone know?

QueenFeeUntoUsAChildIsBorn · 28/12/2008 18:54

I think so because my midwife mentioned both to me this week

metoo2222 · 28/12/2008 19:05

Ooo I qualify but what's the £500 grant?

littleboyblue · 28/12/2008 21:03

I always have such rubbish timing! Gutted.

lou031205 · 28/12/2008 21:14

Thank you - I forgot about this, am due on April 20th!

metoo2222 · 28/12/2008 21:36

It's for people who are on a low household income or, like me, receive higher amount of child tax credit than the family element (I receive a higher amount as DS1 receives DLA).
Also if you receive working tax credit and are disabled.

It's funded by surestart.

littleboyblue · 28/12/2008 21:45

I am applying for the £500 grant, have been told that I needed to have claimed more than the family element in child tax credit for the past year, which I have done as ds was under 1 for mot of it. However, you can claim up to 3 moonths after baby is born so you might qualify then if not now.
Also if you are on Job seekers or income support.
