Started taking rlt at 38 weeks today as my first son although waters broke and was two weeks late had to still have a drip and took 36 hours really don't want another labor like that so been trying everything. Is this good?

It certainly can't hurt - and there is quite a bit of evidence that it helps. As you've started having it late on in the pregnancy though, probably worth having several cups a day. If like me you don't like the taste, then I find it helps to put a fruit teabag in too - something like Twinings strawberry, raspberry and loganberry one is nice. Good luck!

I'm not sure it brings on labour, but it is supposed to make the contractions more efficient or something. I had a short labour with DS so am swigging the stuff down - I'd go for 2-3 cups a day. I rather like the taste meself.

Holland and Barratt sells RLT capsules.

My understanding is that it helps tone the uterus to make contractions more effective, but won't actually bring them on.

It won't hurt though, so you might as well.

Good luck, hope it all goes well for you

My 1st labour was 10 days late 13hrs long with ,Epidural&forceps.2nd labour drank 2 cups of raspberry leaf tea a day from 36 weeks was 3 days early lasted 4 hours and popped out easily with gas& air.Know what I'll be doing this time!

I tried it with DD and found it didnt work, i took the capsules too and found no help.

The thing that kicked off my labour - a bit of manual work! Bearing in mind i only had DD 3 weeks ago so you know what the weather was like......i was out in the garden weeding, digging, planting etc. I went into labour the next day! I was 3 days overdue when i went into labour.

I took the capsules and had a 25 hr labour with 'weak' and irregular contractions throughout. So much so that i was 9 1/2cm by time i went to hospital as they didn't believe i was in established labour from my contraction timings. (it still took another 7 hrs from there)
