12 week scan - terrified

I have my 12 week scan on Tuesday ( my birthday ), and it was at my 12 week scan last time that I found out that i'd had a mmc. Absoloutely terrified if i'm honest, to the point of making myself feel physically sick I just don't 'feel' pregnant. I can feel a wee bump which seems to get bigger at night, but other than that, I feel no different to how I felt when I wasn't pregnant. Had a scan due to bleeding at 7 weeks, when they put me back to 6+1 due to measurements, and there was a heartbeat. DP is very reassured by this but I know alot can go wrong at such an early stage, even after a hearbeat has been seen.

Is that normal to feel so.. normal? Anyone had practically zero symptoms and gone on to find a healthy bean jumping about at their scan?

My best friend had NO symptoms at all with her second (a boy). He is 3 months now!

That's lovely MustHave

I know it happens, i'm just going out of my mind with worry because no symptoms last time meant something much more sinister..

He was an accident, she refused to believe it until she saw the scan! Good Luck for Tuesday.

I had a early scan too - at 6 weeks and saw a nice little fluttery heartbeat - was told once a heartbeat was detected the risk of miscarriage drops quite considerable. Apparently with a lot of mmc there was never a heartbeat to begin with, so the fact you have had a scan and heartbeat is a good sign. Even so I was still terrified at every scan in case something had - at 23 weeks still panic when I don't feel kicking - that's not meant to scare you, just to say your not the only one who worries! Fingers crossed for you, I'm sure all will be well - remember having seen a heartbeat is a good sign!

Good luck with yor scan on Tues SWBL. I had a mmc in June and am now 14 weeks pregnant. I know how you feel - this time I had a scan at 8 weeks and another at 12 weeks. At the 12 week scan I shook and cried so much I could barely get on the couch. Luckily everything was fine. I told the sonographer what had happened to me as soon as I got in the room and she was brilliant. She was really quick and told me everything was fine as soon as she could - no waiting around (in the mmc scan there was a long gap between the scan starting and when the sonographer finally said "I can't see a 12 week foetus").

If it helps at all I had loads of symptoms in the last pregnancy - tiredness, sickness - even though it had died at 7 weeks. Same with this one which so far is ok. So tbh I think often the presence of not of symptoms isn't a good indicator of the viability of the pregnancy but more how an individual's body reacts to the presence of pregnancy hormones.

I'm sure everything will be fine on Tues - and don;t be afraid to tell the how you feel. Where I went the staff were really understanding.
