If I am slightly anaemic, how quickly will suppliments help?

I think I might be anaemic, (no energy, tired all the time, a bit low and have a pale toungue). I had blood test on Tuesday but feel I could help myself before the test results by getting into suppliments now.

I've just bought some Spatone iron suppliment. How quickly will it kick in?

Thanks

I used that late in my pg when I was told I was anaemic - was having a couple of sachets a day with OJ - had a blood test a couple of weeks later and levels back up and felt so much better. Make sure your diet is really good too. Good luck!

I have been on iron tablets before as well as Spatone and reckon you will start to see an effect after a week, maybe even in a few days if you are only slightly anaemic. After a couple of weeks you should be feeling considerably better.

BTW, iron supplements do turn your stools black - sorry if you already knew this or it's TMI, but no-one warned me and it was rather a shock when I went to the loo...
