I am 9+5 and I was chasing DD round the room playing monsters and all of a sudden I came over all dizzy I tried to get to the sofa to sit down and the next thing I was waking up on the floor.

It must have only been seconds as DD (13mo) didn't seem to take much notice me IYSWIM.

I've called my mum and she is on her way. I have never passed out before and this is the only time I have felt dizzy with this pregnancy. I always felt dizzy when pg with DD but never passed out or anything.

Probably just low blood pressure, but you need a full medical check up and plenty of rest - hope you can get it!

I'd call the hospital, they will prob ask you to pop in just to make sure everything's ok.

I feel okay now, still a bit dizzy and I have some MS but other than that I feel fine. Do I really need to go to the hospital?

I hope you are feeling ok very soon. I have only passed out once in my life and it was when I was 20 weeks pregnant. I was showering, washing my hair and I don't remember feeling dizzy or sick but I simply froze - could not move my body - and the next thing I knew I was on the floor of the shower and dh was helping me. It is a scary and disorientating experience isn't it?

All I did was rest for the day and I honestly felt fine from then on and never came close to fainting again. Hopefully you will be the same. Just accept it as a warning that playing monsters might be a bit much for you for a while!

I wouldn't have thought a trip to hospital was necessary unless you fell from your full height onto your stomach? If you were trying to get to the sofa, you were presumably already half way to the ground anyway? Are you aware of which part of your body you fell on?

AndaPartridgeOnADustyTv · 17/12/2008 10:34

I do feel fine now. I think DH will have to play mosters with DD from now on
It was quite an odd feeling, not one I want to experience again TBH.

My mum will be here soon, I might ask her to take DD out for the day so I can get some r & r.

When I woke up I was kind of in a heap, my legs were all tangled up IYSWIM and I was kinda on my side.

The only time I have ever fainted was during early pregnancy. Same with nose bleeds, only ever had them when pregnant too.
Hope you are ok and not feeling too wobbly. I would call your local GP and ask to speak to someone there for an appointment. Personally, if no other symptoms and you feel ok, would have thought your GP could check you over without a trip to the hospital. Worth checking over though and I would not just ignore it totally. What if it were a sign of something easily treated (like anaemia) and you fainted somewhere a lot more dangerous - like when out driving the car or mid crossing the road?
Please don?t panic but equally, please get yourself checked over for peace of mind.

Lemontart · 17/12/2008 10:41

meant to say worth checking not to see if you hurt yourself from fainting (as you sound like you didn?t fall that far) but to check that it is not a symptom of something that needs following up x

Thanks, I will give my GP a call and see if they think I need to go in, but TBH I do fine fine now. The dizziness has gone.

I was anaemic when pg with DD but towards the end of the pg, I was only iron tablets from about 30ish weeks with DD and they worked wonders.

Actually come to think of it , I still have some iron tablets left from when I was pg with DD, can I taker those or does the GP/MW have to prescribe them for me to use?
