Not sure if I can cope with twin pregnancy and high blood pressure...

I'm nearly thirteen weeks pregnant with twins. I already have two children - the younger one is three and we had taken a long time to decide on having a third (now three and four!).

I've now seen the midwife and the consultant and my blood pressure is high and I've been prescribed daily aspirin.

I've been feeling sick for the last two months fairly constantly. Just don't know if I'm too old to cope with all this. Have turned into a right whinging minnie, and worry about the affect of this whole situation on my husband and I.

Has anybody got any constructive advice? Would appreciate anything positive!

How much help do you have? How old is your eldest child?

I have no personal experience with twins but two of my close friends have twins and what I have seen from them the key is organisation. They were both lucky that their mums could help a lot. One couple had a 2 yo DD who spent some time at a neighbours to give mum a break.

Are your elder children in childcare/school? Having even a couple of hours a week to rest makes a huge difference.

Congratulations and good luck

Thanks for the congratulations. I'm feeling at an all time low though and don't currently feel there is much to celebrate.

I'm hoping that this is just a passing phase though and the cloud will (somehow) beging to lift soon.

Oh, it is early days yet. You are probably still a little shellshocked.

Both of my friends were ill and exhausted in the first 3 months. I believe that a twin pregnancy means that the hormone levels are higher so you feel worse in early pregnancy.
