I can't stand the wait for my scan!

Hi, I am 10 weeks today and am just waiting for my letter telling me when my scan will be. I just hate waiting. I really don't believe I am pregnant at all and have had 2 previous mmc. I just want to know that everything is ok and just feel like the next two weeks is going to go so slow. I just want reassurance.

Hi Lizzie,

I felt exactly the same as you - I had also had a miscarriage at 10 weeks so with this pregnancy every day felt like an eternity!!
Am now 22 weeks and everything fine so far (fingers crossed) but I felt exactly like you!! In fact, until they started kicking last week, I would still worry that something had gone wrong.

Hang in there!! Try to keep yourself busy and occupied

I know exactly how you feel, am 10 weeks and 3 days! Try to keep yourself occupied! So sorry about your previous miscarriages but I think we are pretty much safe at 10 weeks now? I already know when my scan is ... not sure if you shouldn't have had your letter by now ... but what do I know I have never done this before!

I am confused about my booking in appointment though which is at a different hosiptal to my scan. Is this normal and what happens at the appointment, I think you have to choose what other tests to have? What tests are "usual" to choose? I know I am having the nunchal (?) test with my scan.

Lizzie you're not alone. Time has STOOD STILL for me while I wait for my 12 week scan! (next week.... finally....) Hang in there

randomxmas · 12/12/2008 13:27

It takes ages doesn't it. Getting to 12 weeks seemed forever (apart from when I didn't know I was preg!)

Oh Lizzie, I know exactly how you feel. I had to have 2 ERPCs earlier this year and have fortunately had a successful 12 week scan with this one. That not knowing and waiting was awful though.

Can you phone the hospital and explain and ask them for your appointment details? They've probably booked you in but just not been so efficient with your letter.

I was also in complete denial. I convinced myself I had no symptoms and prepared for the worst. Lots of people tried to reassure me but it is seeing that scan and hearing the sonographer say "there's your baby" that makes it real. DH said my face was a picture.

I really hope everything works out for you too and you don't have to wait too long. Do phone them.

It seems like forever waiting for 12 weeks, and the again for 20 weeks. Hope all goes well for you, try and enjoy your pregnancy!

thankyou everyone, I might give the hospital a ring and see if they can tell me when the scan will be at least if I have a date it might make it a bit easier, just dreading it when the day comes to as I have prepared myself for the worst. Just hope everything will be ok

Nothing to lose by phoning them - hope they can tell you and hope it's not too long to wait and you get good news.

Let us know how you get on!

lizzie9442 · 12/12/2008 18:20

I didn't ring the hospital today am going to do it next week unless I get my letter before hand, I just wanna know !
