Hi

I'm 9 weeks PG. 2 weeks ago I had cramps and slight bleeding (really really tiny amount streaked in clear discharge) went to the Early Pregnancy Unit to check it wasn't an eptopic PG and that everything was ok and everything was fine so told not to worry.

Then on Friday this week I had more blood and then pinky dishcarge and then like brown stuff almost like you get at the end of a period. Had more bright red blood today - I've got no pain at all - did a pregnancy test today to check I was still pregnant and that was positive. Got my booking scan on Wednesday so will be able to see if things are okay.

I never had this with first PG and I'm sure it's not too serious - Has anyone else had this type of thing and what are your experiences? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

It doesn't sound too serious, as you probably know the brown blood is "old" blood so not necessarily connected to the pregnancy. The bright red blood is more worrying but I have heard of loads of people who have had bleeding and all was fine. I had bleeding three or four times in my recent pregnancy and my little one is 12 weeks old now

oh but do be aware that a positive pregnancy test is no guarantee that all is well as it can take weeks for the hormone levels to go back to normal after a miscarriage.

I would be reassured by the fact that you have already had a bleed and had it checked out and all was ok.

I had this when I was pregnant with my son up until wk 14. It wasn't constant but continued on various occasions throughout. It was horribly scary but I just wanted to let you know my son is now 3, so all was fine in the end.
