I'm 10 weeks and absolutely shattered. However, I find it impossible to drop off during the day and it takes me ages to get to sleep at night. Anyone have any top tips???

i was the same when i was pregnant - absolutely knackered at the begining. i didnt know i was pregnant at that time. it only lasted until about sixteen weeks. just relax, put your feet up and if you drop off you drop off, try having a soak in the bath before bed and get dp to do everything!!!

Does it normally take you a long time or is it because you find it hard to get comfortable now, or something? Just wondered if this was unusual for you.

I have trouble sleeping occasionally anyway, but it has been bad since I got pregnant. I just try to sleep in when I can and have occasional naps during the day, which I never used to do.

I'm finding sleeping tough too - I'm exhausted and fall asleep usually ok but I wake up really early in the morning and can't get back to sleep. I also can't nap even when I'm tired. I'm hoping you get some good tips so I can steal them

I'm 10 weeks today and I have not stopped all day - why am I up now????

I think just try to have naps when you can and don't stress too much over the lack of sleep - just accept it and get ready for the next day

Might helps - Warm bath, reading, milky drink, listening to i-pod

Good luck

Hi

I was knackered in my first trimester (added to by being really sick) and I used a relaxation tape, Rescue Remedy and a homeopathic insomnia remedy. All worth a try.

I think hormones do all kinds of strange things to you, it did get better but I am quite knackered again (27 weeks)...

hi, i get knackered so early in eve - fall asleep round 10.30 - and consequently wake up round 4am and am still up.

think might have something to do with blood sugar levels because i am not eating very much at night. however i have always woken early-ish, but definitely noticed worsening while pg.

gillyan hello!

cillapops the way i find works best to GET to sleep at night is to read read read until the book is literally swimming in front of you and your eyes are closing. only way for me.

I had insomnia throughout first PG (worse in 1st 20 weeks) and am suffering again now with no 2 (16 weeks) - I think its to do with hormones, all that blood rushing through your body, and also blood sugar levels. started to have bowl of cereal before bed, this helps. Also cut out meat in evening meal last time round as found this affected sleep badly - perhaps harder to digest?
