Pregnancy after previous Medical Abortion

Hello, I'm 22 and 9 weeks pregnant. When I was 20 I had an early medical termination at 8 weeks pregnant.

Basically, I remember reading about complications in pregnancy after terminations - the main one being miscarriage in following pregnancies. I am beside myself now with worry.

Has anyone been in my position that can offer me any kind of support? I know some people are against my choice so I am sorry if I upset anyone openly discussing this on here.

In my experience, if you beat yourself up with guilt over something, you will find some naff research somewhere that will support you! please relax and enjoy your pregnancy. There are lots of women who go on to have successful pregnacies after abortion.

Yeah you're spot on!

lauren As far as I am aware, from personal research and 3 years medical study, the risk of complications only really increases with MULTIPLE early abortions, or any late abortions.

Bottom line, your chaces of complications are as much as anyone else!

Stop feeling guilty, just enjoy being pregnant!

Have had 2 in my yoof, and am now due to give birth in january- I was also worried but seems that things are all fine. As soon as you get over worrying about this there will be somehting else!
P.s have also had laser ablation to my cervix, so if my cervix can hold out I think you will be fine!

There can be more of a risk of an ectopic pg if the abortion has caused some scarring but I don't think it's anything to worry yourself over.

I didn't have any problems and now have a one year old.

Like everyone else has said just enjoy your pregnancy.

Thanks for your support I really appreciate it.

I beat myself up so much about it all over the last couple of years so got into this mind set that something will go wrong.

Will relax and enjoy it.
