30 weeks and had a weird episode last night, anyone know what this was?

4th pg so I should know better, but I don't have any answers for this one....

About 10pm last night I was getting ready for bed and felt a couple of strongish BH. I just lay and tried to relax until I got the sudden urge to open my bowels.

Once at the toilet I couldn't 'go', but felt like I was going to vomit at the same time, all the while getting strong BH low slung under my bump.

After a few minutes of feeling like that I shouted of Dh who came upstairs to find me shivering uncontrollably on the bathroom floor on all fours. I didn't feel particularly cold though. Eventually after a while of being glued to all fours with Dh rubbing my back I felt okay to stand but still wanted to vomit. As BH eased over the next hour I felt normal again.

Two questions apart from what the heck was that? has it happened to anyone else?

Is it likely I'm suffering from a tummy bug or similar?

Is this the pattern BH will take or early labour? (my last labour started just like that but was to term)

Thoughts anyone..... should I mention it to the m/w when I see her next week or am I worrying over nothing?

Mention it to the Midwife. It does sound like early labour.
Can you take it easy for a few days? Get your feet up, somebody else take the kids to school?

And eat and drink plenty to keep your energy levels high.

But it could have been exhaustion or something that you ate.

It's difficult to say but I think you should phone your midwife. The shivering sounds like you had a high temperature which should always be checked out during pregnancy.

It could be a tummy bug, or a urinary tract infection.

I felt like that with DS2 when he engaged, though it is still very early even for that at 30 weeks with pg. no.4. I'd mention it to your MW, but I think if it was early labour, you'd have known about it by now.

I had a run of a week of BHs and shivering (always at 3am!). I think with me, it was my body gearing up and getting ready.

Definately mention to the MW, and see what she says.

I had something similar to this but actually was sick and had 'open bowels' felt fine afterwards went to bed, as i was laid in bed the baby was moving massively. When I woke up the next day couldn't hardly walk - turns out baby had been breech and had turned over and this was the effect it had on me, the difficulty walking was the new pressure on the pelvis that i just got used to over the next couple of days and the sickness was all due to the trauma on my insides, weird hey!

Deffo mention it though next time you see the MW.

She doesn't know what it is. She didn't think it was a stomach bug because it came and went too quickly.

Told me to watch out for early signs of labour and go to hospital asap if there are any, which obv I would do.

I'm thinking it might be the baby engaging.
At my last appt (2 weeks ago) she was 'free', then over the last 2-3 days my spd is an awful lot worse, to the point where I can barely walk.

I haven't ever got that 'head between legs' feeling with any of them, but I have got the shooting pains like knitting needles up my fanjo, that would suggest she's further down on my pelvic floor (or what's left of it )

I go back in a couple of weeks so I suppose she can confirm whether that's what has happened.
