I hope someone can give me a bit of advice!!!

I am 23 weeks pregnant and for weeks now i keep getting these mild period type cramps, they dont last long but happen a couple of times a day, i normally feel the baby move at the same time.

My midwife has told me they could be braxton hicks, she didn't seem to bothered about them. This is my first pregnancy, any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi xJulesx

I didn't want this to go unanswered... I don't know what they are but I get them too - my MW told me that it could be the "stretching pains" from kung-fu panda kicking my internal laparoscopy scarring. No mention of Braxton Hicks - but then I have pretty nasty endometriosis, so maybe that's why...

Why don't you give the MW team a call and see if you can speak to someone different? Maybe a fresh perspective will help...

This my second pregnancy, and I'm 24 weeks. I think you're on the March thread too! Both times I've started to get Braxton HIcks contractions about 22 weeks, and they feel how you describe. It's like a mild ache and a very wierd sensation at the bottom of the bump, near where you would have your period pains. When I had real contractions the pains started at the top of the bump - it was totally different. I shouldn't worry too much about it, but do get it checked out. UTIs can cause cramping too, though it sounds unlikely.
