I currently making up a box of small cheap gifts for my SIL who is due in Dec.

Can you lovely ladies, give me some clues as to what to put into the box....

So far I have:
face pack, bath stuff, cooler eye pack (for fanjo!!), wipes, weaning pots and spoons and dummies.

Anyother suggestions would be grateful

TIA

Hand cream - you just wouldn't believe how much you end up washing your hands and how chapped and sore they become because of it!

a voucher offering your babysitting services (if you're local) especially during the day after DB goes back to work to give her time for a sleep

if you're putting any baby clothes in, i'd recommend for a range of ages eg newborn, 0-3,3-6

back with more later, DS is calling

bit of both really- for her and for baby.

RE the vouchers.......we dont live too far apart, but we dont really have the best relationship in the world, never been a problem, but DBIL and SIL keep themselves to themselves and she has pretty much isolated herself from the family
I am also way to busy with 3 year old and having my own Baby in March to commit to too much, but could always offer I suppose.

Having said all that, I would love to give her something really nice...I remeber when I had dd, nobody bought me jack shit for myself, so yes, things for her really would prob be better

when my friend gave birth i gave her a little treat bag when i went to vist her in hospital. she had had an emergency cs so was going to be in hospital a while. some ideas may also work for your basket.

a packet of nice crackers,
a large slab of pate and a large chunk of brie. (something that she adored/had missed)
large selection box of biscuits. (to share with vistors or for long feeding sessions.)
A voucher for a local underwear shop. ( could be used to buy nice maternity bras if breast feeding, or new sexier bras if not. can last till she is ready to use it)

HTH.
