Hi, I would be ever so grateful if anyone can advice/reassure me.

I have been taking an over the counter cough/colds medicine for the last few days or so, and am worried as I have 'typical pregnancy nipples' iyswim? They feel as if someone is using them as a pin cushion - ouch!

It says on the bottle: Do not use if you have a kidney or heart complaint, or sensitive to ingredients etc...then it goes on to say 'or when pregnant or breast feeding except on the doctor's advice'

Part of me is desperately worried because on one hand it says not to take in pregnancy, but on the other hand I wonder if its ok just that the company who makes it are 'covering themselves' should something happen, hence do not take when pregnant except on the doctor's advice.

Anyone pregnant or been pregnant and consumed something they shouldn't? How I wish there was a pregnancy test that would enable all sexually active women to find out if they're pregnant without having to wait a couple of weeks first!

Advice gratefully received.

There is a pregnancy test that can tell you are pregnant before you miss your period. I also saw an ad on the telly last night that shows one which can tell far along in pregnancy you are!

Please don't worry about the cough medicine - they are only covering themselves and anyway thousands of people take things like that and far far worse before realising they are pregnant!

If it means that you can take it on doctors' advice then it is nothing to worry about anyway.
