The baby's really quietened down in the last day or so, and don't know if just moved position (am 27 weeks) or something's wrong. Before I run off to the doctor's (not easy in the middle of work) is there anything I can do to encourage it to kick ( currently downing cold water and eating jelly beans)

I used to grab my belly and jiggle it! The cat used to get them moving too - by jumping on my and trying to settle - drove ds1 CRAZY and he'd PUNCH!! . I also used to poke my stomach if they hadn't moved for a bit. poor little sods never got any peace.

hello i am going to see the midwife today. last night i was so late at work - a bit of a crisis happened - that i decided to go home and drank some orange juice and it did kick again. but i am worried that it has been kicking less the last couple of days. Prob just neuroticism and work is v stressful at the moment which means i miss some kicks there, but want to get it sorted out...

awww the midwife was really nice. Listened to the heartbeat and said it was fine. Also - which made me feel less stupid - said I might be having difficulty at the moment always feeling the movement because of where the placenta was, but gave me numbers of where to call if I couldn't feel 10 movements a day in future and thus didnt make me feel a complete neurotic person.
thanks so much everyone for all your advice XX
