Planned C section booked 3 days before due date is this too close?

I had long labour and ended up having an emergency section with ds1 with lots of complications after (for me).
I am 32 weeks pg now and have a low lying placenta and diabetes so a vbac has been ruled out and a planned c sction ahs been booked.
Ds1 arrived 4 days early even with the 36 hour labour so i'm a bit worried that ds2 will not want to wait till 3 days before he is due.
Do you think 3 days before the due date is too close or is that normal practice?

i thought normal practice was a week early.

3 days seems like they're cutting it a bit fine, if you go into labour even a semi em-cs is going to be stressful. Maybe your consultant can be flexible, or explain why he's only doing it 3 days early.

Its normally better for the baby if you are in labour when the section is done.
I dont know if your medical situation would mean that things were different for your baby, but the later they leave it the readier the baby will be.
If you go into labour you will just have an "emergency" CS rather than an elective.

I am not allowed to go into labour as the low lying placenta can cause massive problems.
I always though a week was te norm as well.I'm not seeing my consultant till xmas eve so do you think i should ring her?
