Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of really premature rutured membranes ?

My waters went on monday as a result of an infection i picked up having an emergency stitch put in last week.

Babys fine and the stitch is still holding, i've not gone in to labour but obviously this is a grim situation and we're likely to lose our baby boy.

I'm on some wacking great antibiotics which are making me feel hideous but i have been discharged from hospital, there is nothing mroe they can do there apparently so i am home on bedrest praying babys lungs develop and he stays put for a few more weeks to at least give him a chance.

Does anyone know anyne who has been though this ?

SockThing · 31/12/2008 16:53

Congratulations.

I had a little boy at 27 weeks weighing just under 2lb over 4 years ago now. He is absolutely perfect now, a real fighter. He also breathed on his own for a few days but soon tired and needed a little help for a while so please don't be disheartened if George has a few ups and downs after doing so well.

So pleased he is here and OK.

Much love XXX

Wishing you all everything.

Yet another lurker here, been following this thread after I found it a few days ago. Wonderful that your baby is born and doing well!! as others have said, you did amazingly well to stay pregnant and keep him where he needed to be for as long as possible, well done! Massive hugs to you both x
