I'm sure lots of people will roll their eyes when they see this thread - but I wanted some reassurance.
I have got a nasty chesty virus and feel so awful - but I'm worried in case the baby feels the same as me...
Can it pass onto him?
(I'm 32 weeks pregnant)

Thanks

Never thought of this. I must admit I don't know but don't think so. I'm suffering too - much sympathy from us here.

Aw, thanks mrsgbroing - much sympathy in return!
I've probably had too much time sat at home feeling sorry for myself and its given me time to think...
I hope he's alright - if we're not allowed booze and painkillers etc - surely that must be because they share whatever we eat/feel. And I'm worried that includes viruses. Hopefully it doesn't work like that and i'm just being silly.

newmomma, it's only a few substances and a few viruses which cross the placenta - they're the ones you get blood tested for at antenatal appointments, so you don't need to worry about this.

You can have paracetamol you know, don't you?

newmomma · 26/11/2008 21:24

yes - have been taking paracetamol but in much lower doses than usual.

thanks for that - i'm sure what you say is right - its just quite hard to keep things in perspective sometimes - but its nice to hear some reassurance.

hope you feel better soon
