Slightly, TMI but dark urine?

is this normal? My urine had been really dark for weeks, have been off sick the last few days and am waiting for the midwife to call me about my odd cold/flu-less fever, but I'm starting to get a bit concerned about my pee!

(This is why you should never have time off to work to flick through those maternity books you hadn't quite got round to reading...)

How much are you drinking could be a sign of dehydration.

loads - it's not that.

Have spoken to Midwife and she said she didn't know, but not to worry about it. Which I guess is fine, as long as they're not sending me straight off to hospital!

How many weeks pregnant are you? Funny coloured urine can be a sign of pre eclampsia and you need to be seen by a midwife.

Or of course it could be a sign of dehydration or a urinary tract infection - in either case you need to see your midwife, get your urine and blood pressure checked.

Is it brightly coloured? That can be a result of taking B vitamins.

How far pregnant are you? Have you got anty other symptoms?

Please get your midwife to check your urine and BP. Dark urine and vomiting can be a sign of pre-eclampsia.

Other signs are feeling dizzy, flashing lights, headache, pale stools, upper abdominal pain, generally feeling unwell.

Don't want to wrry you but it really is better to be safe than sorry. I had dark urine, was being sick and had upper abdo pain last Dec - didn't think much of it til I posted on here and was told to get to hospital. I did and was rushed immediately to deliery suite and gave birth by emergency C section 7 hrs later due to severe pre-eclampsia!

Hmm, well, spoke to midwife and they didn't seem to be bothered. Am 23 weeks. Have an appointment next week though so will speak to them again then, if nothing else happens.

I have been sick a bit, bit not for a week, no stomach cramps but back aching etc and have an odd fever/shaking thing going on. MW thinks I have an odd virus.

Will be cautious and watch out for any pain.

glad you saw the doctor, as your midwife sounds less then helpful.

Get well soon.
