Thanks. Its amazing that its not a routine test.

My friend had Strep B. Apparently you can test positive one week and negative the next which is why it's not a standard test as the result is unreliable. I was tested for it last year, didn't get the result though as ds was born before they came through.

My friend is due in 3 weeks and had never heard of GBS until I asked if she had been tested. When I asked for the test I was quizzed as to why???????

My cousins girlfriend had it and she only did the test because her mum is a MW and she told her to have it. It costs £32.00 which doesn't sound much but if you don't have much money it is alot.

I would like it done but I am 38 weeks and the results won't come through in time.

i'd never even heard of strep b until i came on MN, and then i had to google to find out what it was, even though i used to work at a lab that tested for strep b
