Please recommend your baby monitors...

I was going to get the Angel care with sensor mat but have just realised i cant use this just to the hard sensor mat and im using a Amby nest-so the two dont go together!! Think i thought the mat was floppy!!

What do you need from a monitor? Apart from to hear baby!
Do bottom of range to top of range differ much?
Not really bothered about cctv ones as live in apartment so only ever a couple of rooms away.

Thanks

We have this one which I think is quite good. It's good quality sound.

I think all do them, but what I like the most is that it has a temp on both ends. We never use the talk back or the lulaby bit.

We dont have a big place, but I kind of wish that we did have one with a camera on it. More so you can see what's going on without going in and disturbing your LO. My cousin had one when we went to visit and it was really good seeing what DD was doing without going in there.

Also, we got a cheapo monitor from babies R us when we were in San Francisco for an extended visit. It was really really crap and took it back. Interfearance, wouldnt charge properly.

I used a 'summer' cctv one but the reception was rubbish and flickered if on laptop/mobile etc Are some better then others?

BT Digital Plus. Many others have crap reception.

BT Digital. It is great! Don't know what you get with "plus".

My Tomy monitor broke 2 weeks ago and I've replaced it with a BT 100 (think that's the one - got it for £40 from Amazon) and it's so much better - can highly recommend!

We have the BT digital and it's great. A really clear signal and no mobile phine interference. We got the ordinary one, not the Plus one. It plays tunes i think, but we couldn't see a need for that so saved the extra tenner or whatever it costs.

DS is 11 weeks old.

We had an Angelcare monitor and the reception was awful, the interference drove us up the wall ! It was an analogue one though, so I can't comment on the digital ones. Also found that having the sensor monitor got us very close to paranoia and madness.

We replaced the Angelcare with a Philips Avent monitor -
this one and a bolstery thing to go on top of the mattress to stop DS turning over in his sleep. not this one but similar

We use the lullaby function on the monitor, and the nightlight is just right for DS and feeding in the night without having to turn the big lights on. And reception is perfect - we chose it because we reckoned that a company known for electronics (Philips) would get it right!
