I've just got a pretty strong positive with a first response test. I had a bleed and some cramping that lasted a few hours on tuesday afternoon, but have had no bleeding or cramps since - just little niggling twinges that let me know something is going on.

I had a MMC in August 06, found out at my 12 weeks scan.

It's working out from the first day of my last period, that i'm 6.5 weeks today.

Is there anyone that I need to tell about being pregnant, having had a mc before, and bleeding/cramping a couple of days ago? Or do I just go through the motions of telling the doctor when i'm ready and casually mentioning it to him?

Also - I don't really have any pregnancy symptoms. My boobs for example are slightly tender, more so at night, but nothing compared to last time. Normal or not at this stage?

Any help would be great x

I've also had a mmc, but because you've mc doesn't put you at a higer risk of it happening again or anything. But I would personally get to the gp sooner rather than later.

I know, it's just the bleeding/cramps I was worried about, and lack of symptoms really. I think i'll give the EPU a call and see what they suggest x

Good idea. Here you have to be reffered to EPU by gp. I've had 3 mc's and am currently in my 5th pregnancy (have 1 ds), each time I've done a preg test that came out positive, I went to gp and cried with fear and was scanned at 7 weeks each time which is when the heart beat starts. It is normal to get implantation cramping. Don't worry until you need to.

Congrats!

I had mmc earlier in the year and got a BFP in September. I told my GP at about 5 weeks. Wasn't really anything they could do but I felt relieved for being in the system. It may be worth asking if you can have an early scan, although don't get your hopes up as it does vary. Your previous mmc and recent bleeding (probably just bean bedding in) may mean you get one. I managed to get a scan at 8 weeks.

Unfortunately you will worry. I do still at 15 weeks but I really hope all goes smoothly. Take care!

Thanks I am really scared to be honest, don't want to get my hopes up but I also don't want to pretend like all of my christmases have come early I'll give the EPU a ring now x

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 20/11/2008 08:18

oh and don't worry about lack of symptoms. I felt less pg this time round but all seems fine.
Let us know how you get on.

Hope all's ok.

elkiedee · 20/11/2008 12:15

It's good to know that you have a good local service that wants to help check you're ok. Good luck.

Just an update for anyone who replied - had some internal exminations on Thursday, cervix was closed and no blood. Had to go back on sunday morning for a scan - everything was fine. Saw the heartbeat, got some scan pics, and they think i'm around 6.5 weeks from the measurements. Early days, but it's a big relief seeing that little heart pumping away! Last pregnancy didn't progress past the sac stage even though the miscarriage wasn't discovered until 12 weeks!

x
