Hiya I was wondering if anyone has had a 4D scan done and whether you recommend going for one?
There's a place in Glasgow that does a range of packages, the one I'm thinking of going for is £190 is it worth the money?

Hi ? not sure about one in Glasgow but we went to baby premier yesterday in London ? paid about £150 for scan, black and white pics, cd rom of stills and dvd. I found the whole 4D thing so, so worth it ? really recommend it ? you won?t believe the pics ? but maybe shop around for a cheaper deal as £150 is at London prices too (I think maybe they are more expensive if you are also finding out sex and size etc).

Hi,

We had ours done at 27 weeks (they say to do them 26 - 28), def no later than 29. There was a woman ahead of us who came out crying, she'd waited till 30 weeks and her fluid levels had gone down too much (apparently it does this after 29 weeks) and she couldnt get clear images.

As i say, we had ours done at 27. Whilst we found it hard parting with the money and didnt have a lot of support from family and friends, we went ahead and it was the best thing ever. To see her on the screen, smiling, yawning, we just sobbed our eyes out!

We had it done at future babies in reading (bit far for you!) but was well worth it!

Ours was £165, got DVD, 4 prints, 30 images on CD, 20 min scan (and 2nd one during the day due to us wanting her to be sexed and she didnt want to play ball first time!)

A friend of mine had one and it was mad looking at the pictures and dvd.

babylove123 My neighbour has hers booked for 34 weeks. She was told the later the better, should I mention this to her?

babylove123 · 19/11/2008 12:28

Little - oooh i dont know, to be honest she's obviously been given that advice by them i asume?

I have just been onto the website of the people we used and have copied in what it says:-

4D Bonding Scans can be done at any stage during your pregnancy. However, the best results are obtained between 24 - 34 weeks with the optimum time being 26 - 28 weeks for single pregnancies and 22 - 26 weeks for multiple pregnancies.

They do talk about 34 weeks so hopefully she'll be fine! Maybe the lady who i saw had just been exceptionally un-lucky.

littleboyblue · 19/11/2008 12:30

Ok. I might not mention it then. Wouldn't want her to worry about it all. Thanx

babylove123 · 19/11/2008 12:32

No probs, hope she has a wonderful experience!

Hiya all

Thanks for your responses. Think I will just get a 4d scan done, if I dont I will always regret it going to see how far in advance they take bookings

Babybond do it for £125. I booked mine throught the Baby Show as they were doing a special offer. A £125 voucher for £95
I can't wait for mine, I'll be 26 weeks by then

babylove123 · 20/11/2008 15:05

Flynn - that was my thinking "i'll regret it if i dont" and i honestly think i would have done.

Dont get me wrong, they are cashing in on us mums who are excited, im sure it doesnt cost anywhere near what we get charged but it was a "sod it, i'll only do it once" time!

Pinkjenny · 20/11/2008 15:06

I had one, there is a pic of it on my profile, at the bottom. Lovely bonding experience.
