amnio test, how long do the results take

I'm going for an amnio test tomorrow, I have not been told how long the results take to come back, does anyone know?

When you go for the test you should ask how long it takes at that place - they'll probably tell you when you can expect to hear tomorrow. I think it's similar to CVS in that you can have some initial news in a few days and the full results should take about a fortnight. I was told 2 working days (for CVS) on the phone and 3/4 in the letter they gave me on the day of the test. I got them in 2 working days, though that was Monday from Thursday so 4 days more anxiety.

from what I've read on the net, it takes up to 3 weeks! I will have stressed myself up in knots it it is that long
