She rang to ask if I would mind a student taking over my care (under her supervision) she will take over at the end of March and when I am in labour come with me and deliver the baby (due in May) then do all our postnatale care too.
I am very excited and have spoke to her and she sounds lovely ,I was only talking to dp last night about how I hated the thought of getting another nasty midwife like last time so I am very hopeful that this will all work out all ok .

Great news!

I did this when I was a student - it was a really lovely experience (for me - and I think the pregnant women appreciated it too )

How come the student isn't taking over until March, I wonder? It's a shame she won't be seeing you all the way through - but still, better than nothing. I got to build a really nice relationship with one of the women on my caseload - it was lovely to see someone throughout their pregnancy and then deliver the baby and do the p/n care.

Good luck!

I don't know why she isn't taking over until then the MW said I could meet her before March ,so I will ask .

I always think you relax more when you are with someone you trust.

In process, just realised yesterday that I may not have much notice for an interview and I have nothing to wear. Phoned uni last week and they said I should hear in the next couple of weeks. scary.

Snaf · 18/11/2008 12:45

Ooooh, good luck. Don't worry too much about what to wear - you don't need anything special. Clean and tidy is more important than a new suit! Can I ask where you're applying?

(Sorry for hijack, fiveplusbump )
