Getting head engaged

I'm 37 weeks on Friday and I'm starting to think about labour and getting the head engaged. DS didn't engage until the day before he was born. Which caused me no end of panic really.

Is there anything I can do? Like bouncing on one of those gym balls, crawling round on hands and knees?

Any ideas welcome.

Thanks

No need for it to engage before the day...o fact most subsequent babies will not engage until labour.

Perfectly normal. Nothing you can do to encourage it AFAIK

Hi, DONOT is correct - a lot of second babies dont engage until birth but i do suggest a gym ball - I am 39 weeks with 1st baby and her head engaged at 36.5 weeks but is only 3/5 down. I have been bouncing around on the ball in different movements for 20 mins a day and she is down and ready to go! Sitting on it and bouncing up and down, then sitting on it and bouncy/rock back and forth. I also find it helpful to get on my knees, lean my chest over the ball and bounce back and forth - quite comforting on the back.

just remember to close the lounge curtains
