Passing out at 17 weeks, normal?

As there are a few ladies on tonight around the same stage as me, i thought I'd take advantage and ask about this

Yesterday while out shopping with dp and the inlaws I suddendly came over all funny and told dp to get me outside quick cos I felt like I was going to black out.

Next thing I know I felt all the blood rushing to my head, my ears were ringing and I kinda collapsed onto my knees, dp was holding me but I kept passing out, it felt awful like i was being put under for an operation or something. After about a minute i started to come round and managed to get up and get outside, felt abit funny all day after.

Just wondering is this normal? Only saw midwife on thursday and blood pressure was fine, but iron levels alittle low but in the range of 'normal'.

Just feel abit worried it may happen again and daren't go out on my own incase

not normal I wouldn't have said, no.

I often felt dizzy with my first pg, but never to the point of actually fainting.

I would go back and get another blood test done, it could well be to do with iron levels

I fainted in an ante-natal class when I was a bit further on than you are - that was a combination of poor sleep the night before and slightly TMI about epidurals . My mw asked me if I'd eaten properly that day which I had.

Did you ask your mw about this - maybe you have been overdoing it a bit recenttly.

Sympathies as well - it's horrible feeling like that. I can still remember how it felt to come round (was only out a few seconds) and see what seemed like dozens of eyes watching me .

interestingly I was reading up on iron and stuff the other day. I ALWAYS have low iron levels and they always pick it up when I am pg so I needed ammo lol

anyway, even though your iron levels were within the range of "normal" if they are particularly low compared to what they normally are for you then it could be making you feel ill. iyswim?
