Here we again hey?

Have had some signs of pre-eclampsia, I was induced with it with DS2. On Monday, the baby hadn't moved all day, I went to the hospital they put a trace on and found his heartbeat was too fast, it slowed a bit and then got too fast again, it settled down and they eventually let me come home. They gave me a kick chart to fill in, 10 movements in 10 hours or ring them. Yesterday the 10 movements were recorded before 4.30am, though he then was quiet again all day, but because I'd had the 10 movements that was fine. Today I've been up since 5.30 and no movements at all.

I do have a doppler and I've had a listen in, HB is stable and normal, so I'm not worried as such, but do I still have to ring them to let them know there have been no movements? When I take the kick chart back in next week and they see it had been over 10 hours with no movements it looks v. bad if I've done nothing doesn't it?

Also am a bit worried as to why he has suddenly stopped moving regulary? I go from imagining the worst (i.e failing placenta or if I have got PE starting if it is that effecting him) to thinking what a lazy little monkey he is!

Gah! This baby has already been more trouble than DS1 and 2 put together and he's not even born yet!

No harm in giving midwives a call and saying this to them in my opinion. No point taking risks, or giving yourself extra worry.

lulumama · 12/11/2008 16:41

i think based on your history i would call

what happened the other day after your protein dipstick quandary?

if you go for No4, you must move to nearer me so i can look ater you !

mrsgboring · 12/11/2008 16:42

Call them. Pester them. Don't ever ever ignore a concern you may have over lack of movement. Please, even if you think they might think you're being silly.

I think I'm going to end up with a direct line to the hospital the way this pregnancy is going.

I'll give it till 5, and give him a few more pokes!

Ring them!!!

My first baby was stillborn at 38+6, she'd died 2 days before she was born.

I don't want to worry you but better to be safe than sorry giving your history.

Hope everything is OK.

Call.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 12/11/2008 16:46

Nothing happened Lulu, I went in on Monday as I said, BP was right down (from memory 111/78 or something) they found a trace of protein but nothing to worry about she said. They were more interested in lack of movements and the HB baseline going too high.

No.4????? Not a hells chance of that happening, I wouldn't put you through it!!

Try a cold drink or something sugary - I find this can work. I also find a bath usually gets baby moving around.

scorpio1 · 12/11/2008 16:47

Call them.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 12/11/2008 16:47

Oh god AHB, I am so sorry

I will ring if nothing before 5.

Just a quick update, HB was fine, I worried a bit when it hit 180+bpm but she said it was OK. My BP was down again on Mondays, 100/56, which is reassuring. I have to carry on with the kick chart, and if it happens again then I will be packed off to the consultants to find out what's causing it.

I think if he is quiet again today (no movements so far, but plenty of time yet) I might leave it tonight, give him till tomorrow to get a wriggle on, and then if nothing by morning I'll go in tomorrow morning, instead of missing dinner, missing the boys bed time for the third time this week, costing me a fortune in taxi's (hospital in the next town) and also the ante-natel bit is open during the day, I feel so guilty being on wards that need the bed when the AN clinic will do.
