Same as wedding wear, although we had alot come in jeans etc to ours. Have you black trousers and a nice top?

thanks ladyofrobamaffle
yes, i can do black trousers and a top. that's a relief as i don't want to have to buy something i'm only going to wear once.

People will forgive a heavily pregnant woman for not turning up in a gorgeous new outfit! As long as you look reasonably presentable, you'll be fine.

I got a maternity dress from topshop about £35 to wear to a christening, wore it with tights, long boots and a coat.

Also wore it to a party and to a night out to get my wear out of it.

I was in Mothercare yesterday and they had some nice things in that you could wear to a christening but if you are like me I am so loathe to start buying new maternity clothes at this late stage.Red Herring in Debenhams usually has some nice smart/casual stuff in as well. Just a handy tip/word of warning though - A girl at my antenatal class went to a christening recently, wore a lovely dress, the baby being christened cried and to her suprise her boobs leaked everywhere - it had never happened to her before but warned us all cos she had to go home and change!
