Worried about pre-eclampsia

SOMEONE tell me I'm worried for nothing....!

I'm 23 weeks with my second DD, had pre-eclampsia with DD1, started symptoms about 32 weeks (very bad water retention, protein, headaches). I haven't been worried about PET in this pregnancy as it's something that happened late on, but over the past few days my fingers have started going numb (starting Carpal Tunnel), I've put 5 lb in a week and I have had a constant headache for three days.

Would you go and see the midwife, or leave it a bit? I don't have an appointment for another 2 weeks.

go and see the midwife today. It might just be normal pregnancy problems, but it could be PE, and waiting is really not worth the risk. If it is PE? the sooner it's identified, the better.

Hi Auntyspan,

If I were you I'd go and see your mw. It can't hurt, and the worst that could happen is that there's nothing to worry about.

Don't forget to take the obligatory wee sample with you!

All the best,
Bee

ring the midwife!

I agree, even if it is just to put your mind at rest. Am in the same position - 26 weeks & PE with DD. My midwife told me to call for an appointment if I was ever concerned about anything & that if she wasn't available to see the doctor.
Call today

I had PE with DD and I am terrified I have it again, Im 10 wks pg. I have a friend whos a nurse and is taking my blood pressure every week as I am so parnoid about it. My blood pressure is high at the moment 130/88. If I were you I would call my midwife, get yourself checked out. It will put your mind at rest.

ring the midwife, Auntyspan.

I had PE with my first, am now 22 weeks with #2 and am scheduled for BP checks weekly from 28 weeks.

Go and pester them!

thanks ladies, seeing the midwife in the morning.

My headache is back. Already had some paracetamol this morning, is it bad taking the maximum amount in a day?
