Not sure if I should call the midwife or not?

History: I was induced last time due to signs of pre-eclampsia, main symptoms being swollen up to the point where DH left his indented hand print on my leg after having it resting there while watching the telly, I couldn't wee, high BP, protein in my wee, and utrates (or something like that) in my wee.

I am now 31+5, about 3 or 4 weeks ago, I had swollen up a bit, I couldn't wee, they did PET bloods which came back fine, BP was up but not high.

Had midwife AN appointment yesterday, BP is creeping up but still not to dangerous levels, although she has put me on 'high alert' what ever that means, wee was NAD, last night I started swelling up, this morning I am so badly swollen everywhere, I can leave finger prints anywhere I press again, I can barely move my fingers and toes because of the swelling, but I am weeing fine, no head ache or anything else, though I have been getting flashy lights in my vision, this has carried on since they did the PET bloods, so am guessing that is something else, else the bloods would have shown something wouldn't they?

Basically I am a bit concerned about the swelling alone, but don't want to bother the MW if I can help it (seemed to have spent this whole pregnancy either on the phone to them or seeing them, both of which I absolutely hate doing) but not sure if I should let them know due the BP creeping up again?

Can you be so swollen just because of pregnancy? Or is it always a sign to get their advice at least?

If you have become that swollen you def need to see someone esp with your history. They won't mind!

Haven't done pregnancy for a few years so out of date. But yes you can swell just because of pregnancy. However given what has been happening recently with your BP you do need to ring your MW this morning.

Bother the MW- that's what s/he's there for. At the very least your mind will be put at rest, at the most. you'll be dealt with quickly. Good luck x

you know the answer...get mw rung. they will not think you are bothering them, and you are entitled to be checked out as often as you need. oh and put the last bits in your bag coz im guessing they will want you in soon!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 05/11/2008 08:42

Do you really think?

Last bits in my bag, the first bits might be a better place to start!

Bloody hell, I am getting a bit fed up of this pregnancy lark now. I'll ring when I get back from school.

Just to let you know, I've rang them, MW said to book to the see GP today to get him to check wee and BP, only appointment left was 8.20 tonight, so another wait and see day.
