Had cs 10 days ago. went very well. mw removed the pully bead things on day 5. she said it was very neat scar. but that the 2 beads at either end had been very deep and were a bit red and to keep an eye on it. I felt fantastic. Everything felt very soft and squidgy/jelly like.
3 days later felt unwell. 2nd cs. HUGE overhang, but it is early days. and it was all soft. then I noticed it was sore. felt down at the scar and it was rock solid. like a frankfurter under the skin, running along the scar.
went to hospital the next morning, as advised by MW, becasue diabetics need to be careful with infection,. they gave me floxoxcillin, some antibiotis and said it works wonders in 24 hrs. Did feel a whole lot better.

MW is coming today.
I am feeling better and better, but just concerned about the hardness of the ? muscles and everything under the skin. IS it just that they are starting to heal ?

But is it notrmal for this kind of hardness ? Should I be massaging it genetly or leaving it well alone ?
Is there anything i should be doing to it ?

Hi there! i would leave well alone and let MW look at it. sounds like there is/was infection and the fluclox should do the trick. However there may be a haematoma (collection of blood), might not be so don't worry. I had the same thing after CS very swollen and little collection of blood that went away on it's own. the important thing is that you are feeling ok, no fever etc. just hang on for MW. take it easy. BTW im a practice nurse!!

oh! how rude of me, forgot to say congratulations!!!

Congratulations!

I had an ifection of my section with my first and unfortunatly also a build up of fluid, which split the scar, so I would agree with Lib and leave well alone and ask midwife for advise.

With my second section, I put sanatary towels cross ways on my pants againt the scar, umder the underhang.

Hope everything is OK - as you say it is better to be safe than sorry, espeically as a diabetic

Thanks guys.
MW came. said it is red, but looks like it is on the heal. Just to keep an eye on it.
I had visions of bursting, blood vessles, scar tissue not mending, ruptured ... dying by falling over due to blood loss
Apparently, this is not the case
And that it is hard, but healing.
Hope so
