feel utterly sel;fish for wanting baby tio come early, but just want this backache to stop at night. during the day its more or less ok. as soon as i lie down, baby shifts and my back starts to ache.

i want her out now, so i can sleep pain free. obviously am hoping baby is a good sleeper as well, so i can catch up.

hey misdee, i have 3 weeks but i so know how you feel. I take painkillers every night before i go to sleep and it does help. gp knows about it so it isnt a prob. Sometimes just paracetamol but if it feels worse i take co codamol. Maybe worth a go? Also i have a bath before i sleep helps the muscles to relax and feels less 'achy'. My little ds cant stand me sleeping on my right and when i do i get numb down that side apparantly he is laying on a nerve! Im guessing you've tried various methods of pillows to support you?

misdee · 03/11/2008 09:09

i havew a great collection of support pillows. and dh legs (which i propped one of my legs up on in desperation the other night) am taking paracetamol, but co-codamol makes me feel drowsey which i hate when i wake up.

just feeling like shite this morning and want to go back to bed. i have dd3 here though as dh has gone to do thr shopping as fridge and freezer are both empty.

I know, I know. I'm 37 weeks pregnant this week and I'm suffering, to be honest. I have SPD and just cannot get comfortable at night. Whatever side I lie on, my hip and back start to ache and eventually I have (with great effort) to shift into another position. Lying on my back just makes me feel sick . Doesn't help that I have the cold/flu from hell. If I'm 100% honest, I'd be pretty chuffed if the baby came sooner rather than later. But after getting to 42+5 last time, I'm not holding out much hope.

mad4mybaby · 03/11/2008 09:12

do next couple of weeks shops done on line. You can do them in advance and on tesco you can add/change stuff till around 4am the day its delivered if you need to!

I have 2 yr old ds so know how hard it is having someone else to look after when you really dont need it! Can you get dh to massage your back gently before you go to sleep?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 03/11/2008 09:13

Oh it's rubbish at this stage isn't it?
Remember:

This baby will come soon.
It will all be worth it when you meet your lo for the 1st time.

Chin up Misdee

Is P feeling better?

misdee · 03/11/2008 09:14

mine were 40 weeks, 39 weeks and 38 weeks(induced).

dont even go there mrsmattie with the spd! I have that, plus the right hand side of my pelvis is now out of alignment and physio has done all she can till baby out! I have relexology this am as that has helped a little bit, also seeing cranial osteo.

I ALWAYS wake up on my back and i never used to! Last night i woke up in agony and i couldnt work out why and i was 'beached' on my back! Quite funny now but wasnt at 3am!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 03/11/2008 09:18

mad4 - my sacrum popped out of alignment when pg and the Cranial Osteo worked wonders.

misdee · 03/11/2008 09:26

dh enjoys shopping. usually he goes in the afternoon when dd3 is at nurery, but we are out of lunch stuff as well.

last night i felt baby turn and move lower down and the pain went, then she moved again and it was back, so am guessing she is pressing on a nerve somewhere. also placenta is on the front wall, could that be why she is more 'in my back' than the others? no cushioning so to speak?

Peter is still feeling a bit under the weather, his tacro levels came back fine, so he is treating it as a mild cold, which it probably is as kids were unwell last week. flu jabs next week for all of them.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 03/11/2008 09:29

Sorry, don't know anything about the position of the placenta. Maybe try doing some positions to get your lo to move down again if it's more comfortable?

Glad to hear the tac levels were ok. It sounds like it was a cold, but it doesn't stop you being hyper paranoid does it?!

mad4mybaby · 03/11/2008 09:45

so unfair all we have to suffer eh! misdee my placenta is to the front on the right hand side and always has been so you may be right in that. I think that is also why my baby doesnt like me sleeping on that side!

misdee · 03/11/2008 10:38

if the trampoline was set up already i'd be out there with tena lady in place and pampers care mats at the ready!

another bad nights sleep.

i hope these false alarms are actually doing something so its a 'two pushes and she is out' birth

OP posts:
mad4mybaby · 05/11/2008 09:15

with you on that misdee. Ive had 3 'false starts' so far although i think thats down to my irritable womb. Ive had periody pains last 2 days aswell but only mild. Oh and some kind person has given me a cold!

pookamoo · 05/11/2008 09:17

Poor misdee, I am having similar problems, I would just like the baby to come! I am 38 weeks + 6 days.
Every time I get up in the night to go to the loo, I think "maybe this is it?"

pookamoo · 05/11/2008 09:18

oh and poor others who are all suffering!
And it's COLD in the night for the feet on the bathroom floor! Poor DH suffers most from that when I get back in bed!

misdee · 05/11/2008 09:19

i asked dh if he would take me to the hospital where i could refuse to budge till baby arrived. he said they wouldnt help.

was in tears this morning.

and i want my home birth.

almost called the midwife at 3am, but all stopped at 4am again.

mad4mybaby · 05/11/2008 09:40

misdee are you doing anything to try to encourage labour?

misdee · 05/11/2008 09:43

apart from loads of sex? i got some EPO yesterday as well.

couldnt afford clary sage oil yesterday, will get some today (pay day). trampoline isnt set up still so might attempt some star jumps.

i need a birthing ball dont i? might ask on freecycle for one. will a gym ball work as well?

OP posts:
mad4mybaby · 05/11/2008 09:47

yeah they are the same thing, just a big ball to roll around on! Make sure you swallow EPO aswell as internally. scrub the kitchen floor?
