Am 8 weeks pregnant, and i started to have a bit of cramping and pinkish bleeding on and off since yesterday.

I have a scan on monday, has anybody else had that, and gone to have full pregnancy.

I had some bleeding with DD at 8 weeks. She's now 10! My sister had some as well, and she's now coming up to 22 weeks pg. I hope everything's okay at your scan .

I am 7 + 5 and have had a stressful time (after 2 previous miscarriages)

I spotted at what I thought was 6 weeks. Early scan showed I was 5 + 4. Went back for repeat scan 10 days later (last Monday), a heartbeat was seen and I measured 7 weeks exactly, so growing correctly.

I have been feeling so sick but today I feel less sick and have had more spotting. Despite my good scan last Monday, I am still worried. I really feel for you, it is such a worry the first trimester!

Thanks abbymeg

I did have a private dating scan at 6 weeks, and there was a strong heart beat, just am so worried. Monday seems like ages.

I had pinkish blood and cramping from 5+3 to 10 weeks. It nearly drove me insane - 2 early scans, everything apparently fine. After I'd stopped bleeding it was announced at 12 week scan I had heamotoma and not to worry if I had more - arrgghhh! I'm now 17 weeks by the way.

asdmumandteacher · 01/11/2008 20:10

I had bleeding at 6-8 weeks with DS1 (9) and then again at 11-16 weeks (loads of blood - it literally gushed one night when i was out)...apparantly was a blood clot on the placenta or something.

With DS2 (5) i bled at 14-17 weeks.

When it happened to me nobody told me this happens.

Try not to worry - it happened to me twice and have 2 boys now who were the cause of all that worry

Thanks! Reassuring

hi there, i've just found out i'm 6wks pregnant. And very excited. But yesterday i had brown discharge, followed my mucusy blood this morning, i also have period like pain low down on the left side. . . can someone put my mind at rest? dy

brettgirl2 · 05/11/2008 18:32

Dy - we can't really put your mind at rest as such, only tell you that we had the same. I would still recommend that you go to the doctors because they can send you for a scan which will tell you either way.

Hi arena/roseability/dyan

To add to what others have said - bleeding in first trimester is really common - just not much talked about. With ds (now 4.5) I bled throughout the pg from about week 6 - 36 ... red, pink, brown blood, with & without cramps and/or clots, on average 2/3 times a week
Was finally diagnosed with cervical erosion (totally benign condition at 34 weeks - basically just means your cervix bruises/bleeds easily due to the increased blood flow in pg). It was hideously scary, but ds was, and is, totally healthy (arrived 4 weeks early, but with no associated issues). With dd I bled less, but still had a few bleeds. Born at term, again totally healthy (although a PITA of a 2.5 yo!)

Of my good friends, I now know of 4 who had persistant bleeding ... with healthy pregnancies & babies (although a smattering of premmies - assume that's co-incidence...)

I know that miscarriage is more common than we tend to realise, but that is the case for early bleeding too. As I understand it, a small amount of pink/brown blood (whilst always worth checking out, of course) is generally never explained, and very very common ... even red bleeding is not nec uber bad news

Wishing you all the best of luck with the pgs

Sadly i did have my scan on monday, and it was bad news for me, at my scan they said the baby died at 7 weeks.

I said that i wanted to miscarry naturaly, and i was lucky as it all happened quickly and it come out yesterday.

Good luck guys it's not bad news for everybody, so try and not to worry, i no it is hard.
