Raspberry Leaf Tea

I'm 34 weeks and can't remember when I should start drinking raspberry leaf tea. I got some the other day ready for when I'm meant to have it.

I think I saw somewhere its meant to be after 37 weeks and somewhere else it was after 30 weeks.

Any ideas?

Hiya Kayz

I asked in Holland and Barretts last week and their book said from 32 weeks onwards,

Im buying mine this week (am 32+1 today).

I know that with DS2 i took it from 28 weeks but that was the advice that was on the packet!

kayzisexpecting · 01/11/2008 12:28

On the packet it just says not to take in early pregnancy.

Oh I might have a cup today.

It tastes gross,

plus with the tea you dont know how much you get as the strength depends on how long its brewed for.

I take the tablets or capsuals

kayzisexpecting · 01/11/2008 12:38

I know its horrible isn't it.

I can't find capsules anywhere near here.

the one i got from holland and barrett was the tincture - so many drops in a bit of warm water - It says:
"use during the last 3 months of pregnancy"

RedOnHerBeheadedHead · 01/11/2008 12:48

i used the capsule on my first pregnancy - the drops are not so bad because its only a mouthful of water you need, not a whole cupful.

mumto4rose · 02/11/2008 20:00

I like the taste of the tea! I started drinking it at 31 weeks, I find I get BH straight after finishing a cup!! I was looking for the capsuals but couldn't find them anywhere!!

mum2bean · 02/11/2008 20:05

not to jump on a thread,. but does it have to be raspberry leaf tea, or is rapsberry tea with cranberry and something else in it do the same thing??
desperate as i have been drinking it for days and nothing happening (due today and feck all happening)

kayzisexpecting · 03/11/2008 10:27

I think it's just raspberry leaf tea that is meant to do something. But I'm not 100%

Hi kayz, I bought some packs too and wondered when to start. Does anyone know if it brings on labour, or just prepare your womb for contractions? (I've read both). If it brings on labour I'd better not start til I've finished work

MimieD · 03/11/2008 11:51

It doesn't bring on labour any faster, it's supposed to tone your uterus and therefore make contractions more effective once labour does start
