Hi

I'm 38+3 weeks and last night i tried a little bit of curry to try and get things moving, it was only a few spoonfuls of tandoori followed by a spoonful of vindaloo and then about 10-15 mins later i had the most awful shooting pains down where babys head is (i dont no if its linked to the curries) but they started at 9.25pm and it felt like i had 3 really bad pains every 15 mins only it stopped after 10.05pm so i went to bed hoping that it would be the start of something, then nothing happened? i really thought they were true contractions! has anyone else had this?

doubt its the curry - sounds to me like the head engaging

Shelli08 · 01/11/2008 11:44

the head is already 2-3/5th engaged, do you think it maybe just engaging further?

may not be the same thing but i had terrible shooting pains both times were my baby's head was pressing on a nerve. Could have been that.

It is probably just engaging further and is pressing against nerves. That happened to me too, in the last weeks of pregnancy. It was very uncomfortable.
