Hi everyone, sorry it sounds a bit trivial but I am debating whether or not to use self tan for the first night out i've had since finding i'm pregnant. I'm 25 weeks and going to a ball this saturday and would like to use it as i'm lily white and blonde and my dress is deep red however if it is going to harm my baby in any way or there is a chance I wont of course. Is it just a silly myth? Has anyone asked a professional? There's no warning on the box so I presumed it was ok. Hope someone can help xx

Get it on yourself! My friend had a full body St tropez tan just so she would look brown in the delivery room!

it's debatable, i'd recommend you research risks involved in using each of the chemicals in the fake tan on the net, you might be suprised and decide not to bother. Doing that might put you off using a lot of the soaps, shower gels, shampoo's, conditioners and cosmetics you currently use, pregnant or not! Most people will tell you not to worry about all these chemicals as the mainstream thinking is obviously that they do no harm and they are a part of our every day lifestyles, you really need to go out of your way to find products which don't include the suspect chemicals (but most healthfood/ organic shops have a great range these days and not too pricey). So it's really up to you to do your own research and make your own decision and decide if you want to go against the masses.

you can always dilute it with a normal lotion.

i did this with the Garnier self-tanner + Palmer's Cocoa butter lotion.
