Hi, I am with second child and 39+5 weeks pregnant. With my first I had very strong contractions but this time it is totally different. I have had contractions all day some quite strong but they dont last that long. I have also had a show today. Could this just be braxton hicks or very early stages to labour. I thought with the second it's supposed to be faster!!! I am very confused. My contractions have been every 20 mins to every 10 mins to every 15 mins, all over the place so anyone had similar experience?

I certainly had BH for a couple of weeks before labour started properly - when they happened they would be fairly regular for hours at a time - but they were more tightenings rather than with any pain.

My waters broke at 40+6 and the contractions started properly after that - I know they always say you will know the difference, but i guess that more with hindsight than necessarily at the time.

good luck anyway.
