Which week does morning sickness start?

I'm 5 weeks in and feeling absolutely fine so far, but worried about morning sickness. I work long hours in an office and it will be SO obvious if I start feeling under the weather for weeks on end.

I know some people don't suffer at all (lucky ladies!) but if/when it happens to me I'd like to know when to expect it.

Can you help?
x

Although saying that with first I didn't know I was preg til 10weeks and I was sick before that but had a bad infection so put it down to that. Could have been MS tho

There is no logic. It vaires from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy. I had fairly severe morning sickness last time I was pregnant and this time I have had virtually no morning sickness.

Urrrrh, I had rather got used to the idea of no symptoms!

Hi Feb, I was like like you only a few days ago, eating everything in sight. But sickness started for me 3 days ago, just as I started 6th week and lasts most of the day. but hey you could be lucky and skip it?

Yikes! Thanks everyone. So what's the range of sickness we're talking here? Is it like when you have a bug? Or do you just feel a bit weird? Of course everyone's different but I just wondered if it can be compared to anything like I might have experienced before.

For me, it usually kicks in somewhere around week 7. It isn't like having a tummy bug - you just feel very queasy and strange and for me I am very affected by strong smells. There are a lot of things you can do, though to deal with it. For me, the best thing is to make sure your stomach never gets completely empty - have a dry biscuit/cracker before you get out of bed. Boiled sweets are also good, ime.

All of my children have differed in how the MS effects me.
With ds it was just constant nausea
dd1 I threw up a few times and felt ill
DD2 I threw up every day for about 4wks and had cramps
This time I am having horrible cramps d+v like it is a tummy bug but will only happen once a week although cramps are all the time
Its all fun!!!

6 weeks for both pregnancies - MS feels like nothing else I've ever experienced.

It's like someone has taken the batteries out of your energy levels, you feel unbelievably sick most of the time and your appetite can go from nothing to gut wrenching hunger within minutes. Oh and you can feel like puking and eating at the same time....very strange and until you've experienced it you can't understand it.

Personally I'm a bit of a wimp and I've absolutely hated it both times. First time it lasted until 11 weeks and this time I thought it had gone at 9-10 weeks but it came back at 12 weeks until 14 weeks. Oh the joy of the unpredictable female hormones.

Good luck, there is every chance you won't get it at all.

Mine were so uncontrolable. Id feel sick then I was sick...really quick and not always making it to the bathroom, and Im talking loads of sick!!
Like I said before this happened the whole way through my pregnancy morning til night and all through the night. It was so bad at some points I was being monitored incase I had to rush into hospital. I couldnt eat anything and sometimes couldnt even keep a sip of water down but then my friend didnt even get 1 little headache during her pregnancy. mine was all worth it though :-)
and Id say worrying about it will only make it worse.
