12 week blood tests - high glucose?

hello,
i just had a call from the surgery saying the blood test (glucose test?) they did at my 12 weeks m/w appointment has come back high for glucose.
as far as i'm aware (i.e. last pg), the glucose tolerance test is carried out later in pregnancy - about 24 weeks - so what are they looking for at the moment, and is there anything i can do to lower it naturally, do you know?
am not sure whether this is anything to worry about or not!
many thanks for any advice.
a x

I was in exactly the same situation as you about 3-4 weeks ago, I got a letter telling me to go for a GTT and I completely freaked out as I knew they normally do the test at 28 weeks but it turned out that my results had just come back as only just below the acceptable level so they were just covering their backs and my GTT results came back perfectly fine so it isnt necessarily anything to worry about.

There is a big Gestational Diabetes Support thread about on here somewhere, if you were to ask on there I am sure they would be able to advise you on lowering your levels naturally and they all seemed lovely when I had a quick read through it.

Hope this helps
Claire
