am 19 weeks pg and already have achy legs and bum and have broken out with hideous spider veins on the back of my knees. Saw the midwife today and she reckoned I could be at risk of varicose veins . She mentioned support tights but is there anything else I can do to keep them at bay?
am feeling like a bit of an old crock

You can buy black coloured support tights, that don't actually look like support tights, and they aren't too bad during the winter. It's horrible if you have to wear them during the summer.

Also make sure you don't stand still for long periods. Swimming is good exercise and takes the weight off your legs.

belgo i think i can only bear to be pregnant in the winter for so many reasons, this being one of them...

swimming, yes, must get around to going again...although that means revealing my horrible veiny legs to the unsuspecting public

ta!
