Bloody show? Poss TMI sorry

Okay, I'm 38 weeks pregnant. Over the last few days I've had quite a bit of discharge, but not really any different than normal, just a bit more and possibly a bit thicker. This morning I've suddenly had quite a bit, and it's tinged a pinky-peachy colour. Is this a bloody show? There's no plug as yet.

Do I need to do anything or call anyone? And if it is the show, any idea how long I might have before labour starts? I was really hoping to get my week-and-a-half more rest first!

Sounds like a show to me - is not necasarily very dramatic. Can happen waaaaaaaay before labour starts - even days I think so just sit tight and wait and see. But you could call MW to check if you like.

Thanks. I rang the midwife and that's what she said - apparently labour could start tonight or in two weeks, but my body's now getting ready for it. Eek!

Good luck! When I got my show I went into labour that day, but I was 4 days overdue.

I'm 39 weeks and have had exactly the same thing for the last few days - discharge sort of thicker and pinker than usual. Had a couple of bits of blood stained mucous too which I think could be the plug. Eww!

It's a sign that things are getting underway but it'll probably be a few days before labour begins.

I had this and went into labour later that day. Was 40+2.

I had this. Then it turned brown for 3 of days (tail-end of period, type). Then it turned red on the Saturday morning. Went into labour Sunday evening and she was born early Monday morning.

For what its worth, my MWs did reckon that the longer your latent phase the less likely you are to have a long, drawn out active labour. It was true for me, anyway. Fingers crossed for you
