When I had my 20 week scan I was told that they found fluid in my baby's kidneys and that I would have to go again for another scan.....Do I need to worry????Help

I have no experience of this but I am bumping it for you in the hope that someone will be around soon who does....

TULS this is so common that my hospital trust have abandoned reporting it on scan findings. Kidney dilation is seen in about 5 out of 100 scans (so they see a lot over a week)and is now believed in most cases to be a normal stage of development. Some babies have a little 'kink' in the collecting system where the urine refluxes back up to the bladder. Occasoinally there can be a blockage that can be treated after baby is born (hence they rescan)
All 3 of my dds had this detected on scan. With dd1 we were given antibiotics at about 6 weeks after birth in case she developed a urine infection, but with other dds they were just re-scanned at 6 months and the dilation was resolving. The only concern is that babies with this (when born) may be more susceptible to urine infections before it resolves, although in most cases it does resolve at birth.
Give me a shout if you have any other questions - hopefully I've put your mind at rest!

Thank you very much Diege, I feel alot better now after knowing that it's quite common.
