False Labour???

Hi, I'm more of a lurker on this website, but I do occasionally pop up now and again for advice.

So the problem this time is...... =)

I'm 37+3 and last night had about 45 minutes of what felt like mild contractions, the pain was in my lower tummy area and round my back.....to the point where I was having to get up and try all different positions to get comfy.

The pains went a way, but for the rest of the night, including during the night in bed I was feeling a dull ache in my back.

Today I'm still in discomfort....not loads, but the twinges have been coming and going for most of the day. Along with a couple of trips to the loo (tmi) and hot flushes....clamminess and generally feeling like sh*te.

This is my third pregnancy and with the other two I went two weeks over and was induced, so I really have no no experience of going into labour naturally, I am aware I would bloody know about it if this was IT, but is this maybe the beginnings of labour, should I expect to be going soon? I didn't have any of these feelings with the other two....I think!!

Any advice, comments, similar experiences would be truly appreciated.

It may be labour, it could be engagment, I remember feeling the same as you when DS2 fully engaged.

You should get checked out to be on the safe side though - good luck

I'm also 37 weeks with my third and have had similar feelings today. MW said third time round you are more likely to have false starts. As I haven't had a show not have my waters broken I don't think this is 'it' but if I were you and worried I would call MW.

Good luck

I had these pains and irregular contractions for 1 week and it was early labour, it woke me up in the night sometimes too.
eventually i went into labour. keep a close eye on it and see the midwife if you're at all worried. i went to the hospital a couple of times during that week and they checked for dilation and the strength of the contractions.
