Early Pregnancy Scans

Hiya all,

Wonder if someone can help.
I am booked to have an early pregnancy scan on Wednesday morning (currently 7 - 8 weeks pg). I was wondering if anyone can advise what will be seen at the scan, some people have told me I will see/hear the baby's heartbeat is this true?
After 2 years of trying I am finally pg but extremely worried that something will happen

Any info is grately appreciated

I had one at 6+5 and saw a sac with an almost imperceptible beating heart. I could however, hear it very very clearly. There is a visual display of the heartbeats as well.

Congratulations on your bfp Flynn1984! I had a scan at 6+5 too and I could clearly see the heartbeat flickering away.
I think the worrying is par for the course with being pg! As my consultant says, you worry till you ahve the baby in your arms and have counted its fingers and toes!

Flynn - yes you should be able to see a heartbeat, i had a scan at this stage and it was very reassuring.

CS7 I think your right that I will worry right up until I have my baby in my arms!

I'm so looking forward to Wednesday now...do you get a picture of your ultrasound even if it is an early scan?

I was given a print of my early scans - but they look like a butter bean rather than a baby

I got two pictures.

Hi flynn1984, yes I did get a picture. But I hear some places don't automatically give one so do tell them once you get there that you'd like a picture(apparently they can't go back and get one if they don't do it whilst the scan is on)
