17.5wks- sharp pains on and off - weak cervix?

As per subject am 18wks preg as of early next week and in last few days i feel like I've suddenly expanded but Im also feeling more pressure and keep getting sharp stabbing pains coming down my fanjo. There is an overall feeling of pressure ongoing but the pains come and go and only last a couple of seconds each.

Keep worrying about having a weak cervix, should I be worried about that or having the pains generally?

I'm also 18 weeks and I get that feeling every once in a while, more days like yesterday when I'm really active. With me it's a shooting pain, that goes fairly quickly.

I think it's normal pain (what about pregnancy is normal though?) If you have had any other issues with your cervix it is worth calling though.

Try your best to relax for a while.

Hi GYo, is this your first? cna't remember....

I do get pains, as MKG says, things expanding - but do mention it to mw maybe?

have you stopped feeling sick yet?

GYo · 11/10/2008 17:17

Thanks MKG. I know what you mean about nothing being normal Have just spent 1.5hr walking around the town.

Am waiting for water to heat up so I can relax in the bath.

No other reason to worry re cervix, just read stuff on hear- shouldnt read stuff like that!
