Hi

Has anyone ever had an enema during pregnancy. I have dreadful hemorrhoids (blush) and have been told an enema can do wonders and have found a home kit that has been tried and well 'received' (as it were!) by a friend but am anxious about using it while pregnant...

Any experiennce or idea???

Don't do it - enemas can bring on contractions by irritating your uterus - the bowel presses on the uterus in pregnancy.

Instead up your water intake and gorge on soft fruit.

Or ask your GP for stool softeners and ointment.

just use some cream/ointment and also Fybogel is meant to help
