Use of TENS at 32 weeks

I've had conflicting information. Can anyone tell me if it's okay to use TENS on my back at 32 weeks. I've got that horrible crunched up back and ribs feeling and really needing some relief. Haven't slept for two nights and a hot bath at 2am isn't so practical!

Tens has been linked with inducing labour in some women, and so is not considered safe. However from what I understand the contractions induced are immediately stopped when the tens is removed. So it is not advisable to use the tens incase it induces contractions that lead to prem labour.

Having said that - I used tens from 33weeks with my first and third pregnancies due to irritable uterus giving me painful contractions. So if you are aware of the risk, then you have to make up your own mind!

Hope you get relief some way.
